This movie operates in the reverse direcion to the earlier zoom-ins. Here we start zoomed in and move out. As the move progresses we see how each level of complexity is revealed as a minor detail of the next level up, until finally we see the Mandelbrot set as a whole.
It reminds me of those sci-fi movies where the shuttle departs from some non-descript docking bay and as it gets further and further away you see more and more of some enourmous spaceship.
